I spent two incredible months in Michigan, balancing intense work with some much-needed fun. I am so grateful to receive funding from the Department of Political Science at TTU and the Box-Steffensmeier Scholarship from the Society for Political Methodology and ICPSR, which allowed me to participate in both sections of the ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods.
The program was intense, classes ran from 8 am to 9 pm, and I challenged myself by taking three courses a day: one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening. It was exhausting at times, but every moment was worth it. I gained a wealth of knowledge in quantitative methods that will be invaluable for my academic career.
Beyond the classroom, I had the chance to explore Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan campus. The campus was beautiful, lush, and green, and the weather was absolutely pleasant, the perfect backdrop for a summer of learning and growth. I hope to have the chance to visit Ann Arbor again someday!
